What You Must Know About Mexican Auto Insurance

Mexico does not recognize American or Canadian insurance companies or policies.

Mexican law requires that you have Mexican insurance from an authorized Mexican insurance company when driving in Mexico.

If you are involved in an automobile accident in Mexico and you do not have a valid Mexican insurance policy from an authorized Mexican insurance company, you may be detained and/or arrested at the scene of the accident. Mexican law treats all traffic accidents as both a civil and criminal offense.

Our insurance policy includes Legal Service and Travel Assistance at no extra premium charge. These services will protect you in the event you are involved in an accident. Our toll free number from within Mexico is staffed 24 hours a day with bilingual operators.

Our auto policy provides $100,000 U.S. Combined Single Limit liability coverage, far more than other Mexican companies. In fact, we can provide liability coverage up to $300,000. In addition, the policy provides medical payments of $5,000 per individual and up to $25,000 per accident. Collision, Fire, Overturn, and Total Theft coverages are also included to reimburse you for damage to your vehicle.
