Philosophy HCS's business philosophy is that its customers should take as active a role in the establishment of their Web sites as they can. In other words, it is felt that the real impact of a Web site is best achieved when the originator of it is also personally involved in its design, development, administration and marketing. This is deemed the best way to insure that a Web site delivers a clear message, is kept up-to-date, provides newsworthy information and serves as a useful marketing tool. It is also HCS's belief that too much attention is being paid today to Web site appearance in lieu of content, navigability and performance. What is deemed important is that a reasonable balance be maintained among all four, i.e., a site should have a pleasing appearance, contain useful information, be easy to get around in and load quickly. HCS maintains a special expertise in developing content-driven or information-rich Web sites for small and medium-sized businesses and nonprofit organizations. Finally, it can't be emphasized enough that development of a Web site is only the first of two steps leading to its successful implementation. The second (and equally important) step is the marketing of the Web site. Here, every effort must be made to promote the Web site through the use of traditional marketing tools (press releases, newspaper ads, business cards, letterheads, etc.), proper registration with national/regional/local search facilities and wide-spread cross links with similar sites. |
